Part of a publicist's job is to suggest stories to the media. There are obvious stories like openings where the pitch is purely informational. But once the news of an opening has passed - what next? Features and trends. Often a publicist will come up with an idea, put together a list of restaurants that share the trend, add a little research and voila ! An easy round-up story for a busy journalist to cut-and-paste. A recent example from my in-box is this "manscape" guide to what type of men you can meet in New York City bars and restaurants. To date this story has not yet run - but you might see it somewhere come Valentine's Day. Full press release after the jump.
Manscape
As digital dating begins to take over the singles market, it’s reassuring to know that there are still places to connect, face to face, with those from the opposite sex. I recently noticed the following groups at these various spots so I took the liberty of fleshing it out for you.
FYI-Time Out New York ran an article this summer that revealed there are 185,000 more single women in New York City than men. Though this may not be a shock to married women living within city limits, it is entirely pertinent to the rest competing for mates.
The following is a contemporary "manscape" of the Big Apple created to make light work of dating for today’s busy yet not so cyber-inclined woman.

Shake it on the floor with your closest gal pals, bump babe-a-licious booty with the boy next to you, and party hard all night in this sexy meatpacking spot-if you can get in that is.
