snackwire: vodka on the (diamond) rocks

Bottle_on_black_stipple_taIt's party on this weekend, though the festivities will be out in Vegas. I'm refering of course to the MTV Video Music Awards where Jacob Arabo, jeweler to the stars, will launch his new vodka, BOCAJ (Jacob spelled backwards - get it?) on Saturday night. Click through for all the details after the jump.

BOCAJ VODKA LAUNCHES IN NEW YORK CITY

Famed Jeweler Jacob Arabo Introduces Grape-based Spirit

New York, NY-August 2007- Jacob Arabo, world renowned jeweler to the stars, announced that he has officially launched an exclusive new vodka, BOCAJ, to the New York City market. In honor of the launch, BOCAJ will make its world debut as a sponsor of a red carpet event at Tao in Las Vegas on September 8, 2007 in conjunction with the MTV Video Music awards, September 7th-9th. The luxury vodka will retail for $75 per bottle and will be available at upscale bars and restaurants throughout New York City.

Like a precious diamond, Bocaj will be sought out by aficionados who understand and appreciate exquisite quality. Purchasers will experience a small part of the Arabo family legacy with an age-old family recipe derived from grapes versus the traditional wheat variety, and perfected through a multiple distillation process. The four times distilled individual batches are meticulously blended with the purest mountain spring water. The result is a truly flawless vodka - devoid of the 'stinging' aftertaste.Bocaj is produced in limited quantities and bottled by hand.

A company spokesperson stated, "Bocaj took four years in its planning and development in order to create the best tasting, ultra premium vodka, packaged in a collectible designer bottle commensurate with Jacob's long standing reputation for excellence."

Jacob's overall approach in creating the premiere collection is identical to that of his famous timepieces and jewelry collections. The unique packaging pays homage to the rarest and most luxurious of elements - the diamond. The sleek crystal bottle is strategically frosted and raised to imitate the look of a "diamond in the rough", then wrapped in the splendor of a deep blue velvet bag and tied with a platinum rope. Placed on a table, the unopened bottle commands the attention of every passing glance - the aesthetic so captivating it is virtually impossible to resist.

Bocaj is distributed nationally by Duggan's Distillers, (845-358-7230) and by Southern Wines & Spirits of New York, (516-921-9005) in the local New York market.
